About Sharing your Albums | | Routers and FirewallsGetting Started
- Install and configure your router per the Router installation instructions.
- Configure the router for port or network address translation (NAT), IP
forwarding and port mapping (virtual server mapping).
- Set the router to IP forward incoming requests on specific ports to the
static IP address of the internal machine running the server software.
Example:
IP forward incoming requests on port 80 to the static IP address of the
internal machine running the web server (e.g. 192.168.0.4:80).
Note
Please refer to the manufacturer's web site for specific set-up instructions.
Using MyPhotoServer WebSite Address
- Connect your computer to the Internet.
- Make sure the WebAddress Client is active (red ball in your task bar).
- Test your photo gallery. For example, to test your photo gallery open a
web browser and type in your Web Address Name
(http://smithfamily.myphotoserver.com).
Note:
If your WebAddress Client displays offline you may need to change the Update Packet Type in the Connection Tab. Type 1 is the default setting and works in most cases. If your computer continually shows offline select Update Packet Type 3 and repeat the test. You must retest after 15 minutes to verify that everything is functioning properly. If the retest fails you can repeat this step with each of the other Update Packet Types.
